Nelnet Instructional Design/E-Learning Specialist in Sidney, Nebraska

The Instructional Design/e-Learning Specialist will have experience in online course development. This position will work with the CampusGuard Online Training (OLT) Product Lead and other subject matter experts to update and refine existing learning content, as well as author and deploy new online course materials. The Instructional Design/e-Learning Specialist will be responsible for incorporating information into the design and development of CampusGuard’s online training courses.

Activities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Work closely with subject matter experts to design and develop SCORM compliant online training courses.

  • Create and develop intuitive, engaging, and interactive visual training content using a variety of software/authoring tools.

  • Implement creative instructional design strategies and online learning experiences through multimedia, video production, and digital content based on direction of the OLT Product Lead.

  • Develop storyboards and author scripts for e-Learning.

  • Regularly update course content per annual cycle dates and based on quality reviews and feedback.

  • Draft learning objectives and knowledge assessments to measure training effectiveness.

  • Monitor training content for consistency, accuracy, clarity, ease-of-navigation, and best practices for user experience.

  • Customize standard courses with customer-specific details, branding, etc.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, customers, and stakeholders to identify training needs and learning objectives.

  • Collaborate with OLT Product Lead to develop and adhere to timelines for all learning projects, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Effectively communicate project expectations to fellow team members and customers in a timely and clear fashion.

  • Assist with project-related activities such as tracking customer feedback, maintaining project checklists, verifying requirements are being met, building documentation, etc.

  • Test technical functionality/compatibility across multiple browsers and platforms, including reviewing text/graphics/audio/interactivity, QA user experience and usability, and review for client-specific functionality requirements.

  • Develop and test training course compliance with required ADA and digital accessibility standards/Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

  • Verify internal and client-requested changes to courses are correctly implemented (tracking and verifying all changes).

  • Troubleshoot functionality issues and partner with Operations Support when issues arise.

  • Research and advocate for new innovations in both learning design and education, including experience using AI tools.

  • Participation in sales presentations and demonstrations of the training platform and courses.

  • Other OLT development and support duties as requested.

**Pay Range for this position is - $70,000 - $80,000

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Instructional Design or Graphic Arts.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience.

  • Experience working in cybersecurity, privacy, compliance, or technology preferred.

  • Experience in learning design and content development, with demonstrable experience in writing effective copy, instructional text, audio, and video scripts that support learning objectives.

  • Experience storyboarding for eLearning or multimedia content.

  • Experience developing high quality interactive eLearning modules.

  • Experience with delivering training to a range of learner audiences.

  • Experience developing responsive content to meet required Accessibility standards.

  • Experience testing/documenting accessibility compliance (VPAT documentation).

  • Experience with Storyline Articulate, Rise 360, or other authoring and video/animation tools.

  • Experience with SCORM and other e-learning standards.

  • Experience/proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
