Are you passionate about creative writing? Do you enjoy creating fun, engaging content? If so, Nelnet is currently looking for a motivated intern interested in gaining hands-on experience as a member of its Marketing and Corporate Communications team.

Nelnet’s internal communications team is dedicated to facilitating and enhancing communications that educate, inform, inspire, and engage associates. As a team member, you will get a unique look into the happenings of Nelnet’s diversified organization while having an impact on the way associates receive information and stay connected. In addition, you will have the opportunity to assist in the planning and execution of corporate communications campaigns and projects as well as company events.

  • Assist in writing, creating, organizing, and distributing of internal weekly/monthly newsletters, articles, announcements, and other various types of contentthat support the organization and align with corporate communications strategy and brand standards

  • Brainstormengaging contentcreation ideas andbring them to life

  • Seek out inspirational storiesand positive customer experiences

  • Partner and collaborate with business areas to determine communication needs

  • Respond to and prioritize requests for content creation and distribution

  • Aid in reviewing and copyediting content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and brand standards

  • Utilize and help to maintain the corporate communications content planner

  • Assist in updating the company intranet

  • Work on special projects as needed

EDUCATION:

  • Pursuit of a degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English or related field is preferred

  • Two completed years of undergraduate coursework preferred

COMMITMENT:

  • Preferred availability of approximately 20 hours a week during the school year, with more hours potentially available in the summer months if interested

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Passion for writing and excellent editing and communication skills

  • Creative, enthusiastic, and self-motivated with a positive attitude

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical capabilities, and collaboration skills

  • Extremely strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality

  • Must be enthusiastic and self-driven about learning and using moderntechnology and communication platforms

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse teams

  • Customer-oriented

Pay - $15 - $17
