Nelnet Business Services' in-house marketing team is looking for an Associate Graphic Designer. The team supports the marketing and advertising for all of Nelnet Business Services brands. We produce award-winning and effective creative that helps move our businesses forward. This position could be responsible for a wide range of graphic design tasks, including print advertising, collateral material, logo development, typography, illustrations, and more. This designer works closely collaboratively with other members of the creative team. The ideal candidate for this role will combine a strong mix of creative, technical, and communication skills with strong attention to detail to ensure our print and digital designs meet high quality standards.

  1. Collaborate closely with the Creative Team and Marketing Managers to execute and deliver effective design projects

  2. Liaising with Marketing Specialists to define design requirements

  3. Follow deadlines to ensure timely design execution and delivery

  4. A strong attention to detail ensuing all graphics, colors and typographical elements are balanced and free of errors

  5. Reviewing graphics, layouts and fonts before products are completed

  6. Retouch images to improve quality both in print and digital formats

  7. Make various formats of supplied artwork production-ready and resolve any artwork issues that arise during production

  8. Create PDFs for print and client review

  9. Package and preflight files for release to printers or media partners

  10. Keep up-to-date with trends in graphic design techniques and software

**Pay Range for this position is - $45,000 - $55,000

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in fine art, graphic design, similar discipline or relevant work experience

• 2+ years of related graphic design or production experience

COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

• Strong knowledge of printing processes and digital color spaces

• Strong attention to detail and proofing skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Be a process-oriented self-starter

• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

• Adept with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office

• Must stay up to date with new production techniques, Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office application features and trends through research and education
