The Learning Resources Specialist I collaborates with Product, IT, Implementation, Operations, and other stakeholders to support product development and fill knowledge gaps and learning needs. This position works closely with team members to capture institutional knowledge, delivering information through written content and other media formats. The Learning Resources Specialist I also develops learning materials to train clients and Nelnet associates. This role is critical in maintaining up-to-date learning resources, adapting these resources as products evolve and needs change, and guiding user learning.
Collaborate with various departments to identify, research, and address knowledge gaps and learning needs.
Capture and document institutional knowledge and ensure stakeholders are trained to serve clients.
Develop a deep understanding of products and services to translate complex product information into simple, engaging, and effective content.
Develop and maintain training resources, ensuring they are current, comprehensive, and follow best industry practices.
Respond to user feedback and validate deliverables to continuously optimize the user experience.
Gather, analyze, and test product and use-case information, vetting content with subject matter experts by participating in meetings, sharing drafts for review, and incorporating feedback into the final content.
Continuously evaluate content and develop innovative approaches for improvement.
Follow guidelines for style, clarity, efficiency, and pedagogical effectiveness.
Stay current on industry technology, strategy, and practice.
Promote the reputation and credibility of the Nelnet Campus Commerce (NCC) Content and Training Team.
Actively contribute to the growth and development of Nelnet Business Services.
Salary for this role is: $47,000
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE:
1-2 years of industry experience as an effective technical writer, trainer, or teacher.
Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences.
Experience with blended learning and instructional design.

Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with various stakeholders and to build consensus.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.
Curiosity to dig in and fully understand system functionality and business processes.
Natural desire and ability to effectively help people understand complex concepts.
Experience in developing and maintaining information resources.
Proficiency in analyzing content accuracy and usage.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
